Visit Miramare Castle and its park with a one-day entry ticket and phone-based audio app. See Maximilian of Habsburg’s ornate rooms, Orientalist salons, red-silk throne room, museum displays, and gardens above the Gulf of Trieste. You exchange your voucher at the ticket office, and no live guide is included.

It would be nice to have a map of the botanical gardens areas or have them marked with the best ways to go. Visit San Leo Fortress for one day with time to explore its towers, fortifications, weapons, torture instruments, historical rooms, Cagliostro’s cell, and the Musleo virtual ecomuseum. The $11 ticket is self-guided, so check opening hours and allow extra time for Italian-only signs.

Visit Miramare Castle on your own for roughly two to three hours. Your ticket covers the imperial apartments, Throne Room, music room, park, greenhouses, stables, and Castelletto. There is no guide or hotel transfer, and your requested entry time may change. Print your confirmation voucher and allow time for the long walk from the entrance.

Visit Manta Castle in Piedmont with a one-hour entry ticket. See the Baronial Hall’s late-Gothic frescoes, the Mannerist Hall of Grotesques, the castle church, kitchen, cellars, and gardens, all framed by views toward Monte Viso. The ticket costs $12 per person and is wheelchair accessible.

Step into Masino Castle in Caravino, a former Valperga family residence overlooking the Canavese plain. Your ticket covers the ornate rooms, private apartments, panoramic terraces, historic library, gardens, tree-lined avenue, and one of Italy’s largest mazes. Plan on about an hour, or longer if you linger outdoors.
Spend about an hour exploring Avio Castle above the Adige Valley. Walk through crenellated walls, vineyards, cypress terraces, and the Castelbarco family residence, then see the 14th-century frescoes in the Room of Love and the Keep. An optional guided tour adds context, while game-based trails help younger visitors follow the castle’s story.

Visit Santa Severa Castle for one day with an entry ticket and digital audioguide. Explore the medieval fortress, climb the 9th-century Saracen Tower, and visit the Museum of Sea and Ancient Navigation, including its underwater exhibit and Etruscan and Roman ship remains.
Visit Bari’s Swabian Castle at your chosen entry time and explore its Norman, Swabian, and Renaissance past. See the monumental portal, atrium, loggia, historic collections, castle models, and the Gipsoteca’s plaster casts of Puglian monuments. An optional audio guide is available in English, Italian, French, Spanish, and German.
